Ensure all icons are the same stroke weight, viewed here at 2pt.

When scaling, adjust the stroke weight proportionately.

Reverse stroke colour to white when using icons on coloured backgrounds.

Don't

Use as an image, only as a complementary icon to illustrate a point.
